Question
My Huskie male is about a year and 4 months now. he used to be afraid of everything but started warming up to people a while ago. now out of now wear he has separation anxiety. he has destroyed all the blinds in the house. i tried crating him when he was younger but he would flip out and hurt himself so i stopped and he did just fine. my boyfriend is at the point of madness. we were planning on getting another dog but not for a while. would he be better with other dog around?

Answer
I suggest you try crate training him again. This sounds like a simple issue of the puppy trained you not the other way. Separation anxiety is a symptom of the dog having to much control over its owner. The dog gets this way because they begin to think that you cannot function without them telling you how.
The passable reason the puppy flipped is because you probably stuck the pup in the crate before it was totally comfortable with the crate.
Here is an article on crate training.

As always in training a dog, when they start acting up at advanced levels in training, go back to the start and try all over again. The first step in crate training in getting them used to the kennel. Leaving it open and putting toys, treats and other special things in the crate they they are only allowed to have in their room. The crate is the dogs own personal room in your house. In some later stages of training you have to learn to ignore the dog. Your Siberian sounds like he needs a plastic airline crate as opposed to a wire crate, the wire crates can hurt your puppy more. Always keep their collar off when kennel training them. The collar can get stuck in the crate and they can choke them selves to death. I know of 2 people this happened to so far.

I would solve this puppies problems before you get another dog.
1) your puppy thinks he owns you at this point, bringing in anther dog might cause your current puppy to fight, and behave in a unacceptable dominate way to the new dog/puppy.

2) if you decide to get a puppy, they might learn the unwanted behavior that the original puppy displays.

3) Even if you get an older dog you will have to do training on it as well as to what is acceptable in YOUR house.

The only way you can get another dog at this point is if you get an older dog, house trained and fairly well trained in obedience. But most people, unless you are lucky, won't be willing to part with a dog they put so much time, energy and love into.

Your only hope for this one is to properly crate train him, and take him out a lot to help socialize him. He is probably going through the second fear imprint stage at this point, so don't be rough with him. He is lost and feeling miserable right now. You can tell he isn't a happy dog at the moment. Guide him, don't smother him. To much cuddling can also be just as bad as ignoring them.
