Question
I have heard that huskies prefer another dog around...is this true? I mean I have two cats and I may be getting a husky. (Yes I know the concequences of a husky, lol) So i was just wondering if they DO need another pet/dog/husky to keep them company.

Answer
Siberian Huskies are very social animals and thrive on interaction.  There are plenty of happy, well-adjusted Siberians who live in single-dog homes though, the key rests in how much social interaction you provide.  The dog itself cares little if the interaction is with another Sibe, another canine, or humans, but it needs that interaction.  So, if you plan on spending a great deal of time with the dog and interacting with it, you can get away happily with just one.  However, if you aren't planning on exercising the dog a lot and playing with it a lot, a second dog can help redirect some of the energy.  Personally, I have two dogs for that reason.  As much as it is great to interact with the dogs, it is nice to be able to open the door and let them play with each other outside sometimes :)
