6 1/2 wk old puppy

I just got a 6 1/2 wk old puppy.  Is it normal for the puppy to not be active and sleep most of the time?  He does not want to play.  From what I have read this dogs are very active.  Should I be concerned?  Thank you.

Dogs are primarily carnivores (although slightly omnivorous) and, like most carnivores, spend a majority of their time asleep.  It is not uncommon for a dog to sleep 12-16 hours per day, and puppies more so.  At 7 weeks old, the puppy will probably have a few bouts of awake/playtime, but will be sleeping 18+ hours per day.
