Question
I have a 4 month old English bulldog she seems to really getting jumpy and I was wondering if this is normal for the breed. I was also wondering on how much one should weight at this point she was the runt of her litter and seems to not be growing very fast.

Answer
All puppies, whether it they are Bulldogs or Dobermans, need early socialization in order to be well adjusted dogs. Get your puppy into an obedience class asap. It's not necessarily the training you're looking for but rather th exposure to other dogs and different situations. Additionally, puppies go through a "fear period" at 4 months of age and you really need to be patient during this time.

As for her weight, I have no way of answering this questions with any accuracy as I don't know the parents nor have I seen your puppy. Runts are runts for a reason. If she's growing slowly, at least she's growing. Rule out anything that might be holding her back, like intestinal parasites. Have a fecal check done and if that's negative, she'll probably be fine, just slow to grow.
