Question

Eddy
Hello, I have a 7 month old bulldog mix puppy. He is a male, neutered, current on all vet care and shots, on heartworm prevention, on flea prevention, and eating Wellness Just for Puppies dog food. He is on Zyrtec because the vet suspects allergies as he itches a bit. He did have demodex mange as a pup, I got him at 8 weeks he got mange at around 10 weeks, however he has healed completely without aggressive treatments, just goodwinol ointment on the spots. He is doing pretty good but I am trying to educate myself on bull breeds and thier temperaments as I have never had a bull breed, only a pomeranian, saint bernard, and siberian huskey. I currently also have a 6 year old male pom named Taz, the bull mix is Eddy. My main question is will my bull mix become aggressive with my pom even though he has grown up with him? I read alot about bull breeds becoming dog aggressive even when brought up with other dogs, is this true? It doesnt make logical sense but I thought I would ask. Also, my bull is 30 lbs and my pom is 10 pounds and sometimes the bull mix plays too hard with the pom. He will basically fall all over the pom, in completely play and puppy friendliness, but the pom tends to start barking and backs away. Nothing bad has ever happened and neither dog has ever grawled at the other. They can be in the same room with no problems at all; however, I consistently have to pull the bull mix away in order to prevent him from smashing the pom in innocent play, is there a way to better deal with this? I dont want it to elevate to aggression so I want to tackle it now. I normally would expect the pom to tell the bull mix where to go in a proper way but the pom just gets scared and backs away. Any ideas? Other than dog aggression in later life and being gentle with my pom, my bull mix is a super dog and I love him. I have always loved big dogs more than small but I think I have a great mix now, one tiny pom and one medium bull mix. Thanks for your help. I have included a pic. As you can tell, he is definately a mixed breed but the shelter I got him from said he was mostly a bull mix.

Answer
Hello Rachel, Eddy and Taz!
Very cute little boy !!! Thanks for the photo.  I love to get photos.
Well, the only way you can protect TAZ is to monitor the play time.  In the future, your Eddy will Learn the social cues from Taz/

Also, TAZ will be safer as Eddy gets older and bigger because Eddy will become more coordinated. I am sure Eddy is all over the place right now.

As for the future in temperament, only time will tell.  I think you have a good chance of everything being fine.... But, I can't guarantee anything...

Make sure you are using some NuVET for Eddie / NuVET is an allergy blaster and immune system booster. ....
The drugs that were used for mange will lower the immune system and they may be one of the reasons he needs the Zyrtec.
By-the-way, Zyrtec is a good choice !  Good for the vet.
Much better than the other Harsh stuff the vet could have ordered.

Start with one NuVET wafer per day / go here for ordering:
Tell them Marie of All Experts sent you for a 90 count bottle ...
60 count is 39.00
