12 week puppy surgery

Question
We bought a bulldog pup about 4 weeks ago now. She had cherry eye surgery
the day after we got her per the breeder. (she had a huge cherry taking up
about 75% of her eye). the week after surgery she developed some chest
congestion which our vet gave us clavamox for. The Clavamox wasn't working
and her congestion had turned into pnuemonia. The doctor then switched her
to baytril and tamiflu. she is done with the tamiflu but stil has about 7 days
left on the baytril. the congestion has lessened, she is only congested at night
and in the morning and her energy has picked up. i am just curious how long
it usually takes for them to get over pnuemonia. Also, her cherry eye returned
and the doctor (a different one than she went to for the original surgery)
suggested we have the cherry eye and get her spayed at the same time so she
doesnt have to go under two more times since the first time she didn't do too
well. Can you let me know your thoughts?

Thanks!

Answer
Once a puppy develops pneumonia it is critical that it is completely over it before undergoing any further surgeries. Baytril should do the trick, but keep her healthy for at least a month before the spaying and further cherry eye repair. I agree that getting two things accomplished with one anesthesia is a good idea.
