8 week old english bulldog puppy

Question
I recently purchased an 8 week old male english bulldog, from a breeder, he goes after everything but his toys.....shoes, shoestrings, clothes, feet, hands, furniture, anything ....when i say no, he seems to go after me or the person even worse.....when trying to rub his tummy etc, giving him any kind of attention it always turns to him biting,he has brought blood 3 times already...  he hurts..we can't walk without him being under our feet, which scares me with stepping on him..... we crate him during the day off and on and at night....at night , he does great, but during the day, he barks each and every time  I come near the crate, I work at home and have small children around and can not allow him out running loose while he is doing the biting thing.......I take him out about every 20 minutes, his potty training is going great, he keeps crate dry all night...although I have noticed that he will come in house sometimes and within 5 minutes pee on the floor, after being out side for 15 minutes or so and peeing 2 or 3 times.......i just need to know exactly what to expect from this pup, and how to control the barking issue with him........how should I  reprimand him when he does wrong , by potting in the house, biting, barking etc........also he eats like a speed demon, is this something that is normal, or should  I work on slowing him down while eating, and how would i do that......thank you

Answer

Caesar takes NuVET
Hi Lenna, all I can say is " Puppy and Puppy"  - first -this is all normal and will pass!
Please read up on bite inhibition - you need to teach him when bites hurt... When bites are play time and when they sure do hurt... Momma bullie starts to teach this at 4-5 weeks of age.
If he had stayed with Momma a few more weeks he would not be this bad..

Ok, so look up - search - puppy bite inhibition - there will be loads of tips to help on this and on the excessive barking / HE is talking to you and Playing....
Again, this will not last too long - Get some good puppy books on training and pup behavior.
I love amazon.com for any books / great prices and selection!

Sounds like you are doing a great job with crating this boy - Just offer a bunch of play time in-between the crate time -  Ball play is fun!

Also, make sure this baby start the NuVET bullie vitamins / NuVET has 1000s and 1000s of bullies on the supplement - Protects that "bullie" skin and coat ( so prone to skin and coat problems )*
