Question
Hi,
Renata my 8 year old very active bulldog lives in Colombia, South America in my mom's house which is in a farm in the mountains. She has had in the past 4 months an an infection right next to her nose in one of the wrinkles.Kind of where here tears end up. It starts as kind of pink and then her cheek gets swollen like a ball and the vet told us she had worms from a fly that laid eggs on her. Offcourse they have to sedate her and remove them. Are there any medications I can use to prevent this???
Please help.

Answer
The key to eliminating this problem is good hygiene. Clean the wrinkles every single day and make sure they're dry after the fact.  You can put a light layer of some type of antibiotic ointment, like Neosporin, in the wrinkles, but keeping the area clean is most important.

Clean them with a warm, soapy clothe, dry them thoroughly and then put on the ointment.
