How to keep an american bulldog from being destructive.

Question
We have a 6 month male American Bulldog. He has been with us for about 2 weeks now. The first few times I left him alone in the house while at work he was wonderful. Now he is starting to be destructive. He is left alone at night when we go to bed and is fine; but when we leave for work he starts to find things (magazine, blanket etc) to destroy. I come home everyday for lunch to take him for a walk and let him outside. What are we doing wrong?

Answer
First of all, two weeks is a very short time for a puppy this age to acclaimate to a new home.

Secondarily, it's like leaving a 2 yr. old child alone in your home without supervision.

Get a crate for him and put him in it when you're out of the house. This makes life easier for you and safe for him. He's view the crate as his "safe place" and will be quite comfortable until you get home.

The only thing you're doing wrong is expecting too much from a 6 month old puppy.
