Frenchie Cherry Eye

I have a four month old French Bull Dog.  He developed Cherry eye in the left eye on Sat.  Since then it has been popping in and out.  Should I be concered it is irritating his cornea when not out?  And how important is it for me to get fixed if it is only out half of the time?  Thank you for your help.  TD

It may do this intermittently for months. As long as it goes back in, it should be fine and won't damage his eye. However, if it stays out it will have to be surgically repaired. The more it pops, the better your chances are that it will need to be fixed.
