Walking

Question
My bulldog puppy is just over four months old. I'm having a terrible time getting him to walk along on a leash. He seems to have the proverbial bulldog stubbornness even at this age. I can't even get him to walk across the yard, let alone on a "real walk." Treats help somewhat, but even so, he'll sit there for 10-20 seconds before he decides to get up and walk a few feet. Any suggestions.

Answer
Bulldog puppies don't do well on "forced marches". Walking across the yard may be all he's up to at his age. If you're not using a harness, that's a must. He won't be up to a "real walk" for some time. Free exercise is much better for puppies and that is only good in short increments.
