english bulldog food concern!

Question
QUESTION: hello

i have an 8 month old englishbulldog puppy..he is a little cubby..at 45
pounds.. he has been on Eaglepack Holistic Select Chicken Meal puppy food
since i got him, however over the last month he has completely lost interest
in his food... he is healthy as ever, and gobbles anything else, but he doesnt
seem to like his food anymore. here is my problem..i have been trying to
figure out what food to get him on! i am trying the orijen adult dog food..but
i feel that the protein amount is a little high at 42%...is this too high for an
english bulldog of 8 months? the thing is..it is grain free..and due to his
recent stools which have been sort of runny and mucky..i want to go grain
free. eagle pack is a great food, but it does have whole grains and i am now
trying to figure out if i should put him on either the duck, fish, or lamb meal
from eagle pack holistic... another issue is that these are all adult foods, and
there is only one main protein source...
does this matter? does he need more then one protein source? also..is it okay
to put him on adult food even though he is only 8 months? is the orijen okay?
or should i try something else?

this problem is driving me nuts..the breeder i purchased him from are super
loyal to eaglepack, and they have said just to put him on the anchovie, salmon
and sardine eagle pack holistic select dog food....

what do you recommend/think???

p.s  - my pup is finishing up medication..he takes ivurin which is a liquid for
a skin condition he had..he is now over the condition and we are just
wrapping up the antibiotic course! i know this has contributed to his loose
stools, but aside from this i want to go grain free and finally have him have a
firm stool

QUESTION: Yes I am in canada! Thanks a ton!

ANSWER: Hi - yes, take him off the Eagle Pack and go with the Adult Orijen Dog Food ( adult).  Many times it is a good idea to take them off the pup food at 6-8 months and go onto the Adult brands..

Eagle Pack is a great food but I do like the Grain Free Brands better......

YOU do feed a little less in the Orijen Brand than you would in others.. Orijen is condensed and you need less in a feeding amount.
YOU can also add some green beans to his diet.  LOW calories and good for him. YOU can add a little parmesan cheese on top of the green beans, just for added taste.

This is great for your kid's Skin and coat health. Excellent and guaranteed to help

QUESTION: What about the protein content in orijen? Is it too much for an english bulldog? This is really my last concern..I'm a big fan of the food aside from this..

Answer
Hi- I don't think so... YOU can always mix it with something else:
I have told people in the past to do 25 % Orijen Senior with 75% Orijen grain free adult/  It will still give him a good amount of grain free.  ( the senior is lower in protein)

Many people will mix.  I am not concerned about one source of protein.  YOU will have to see how he does.  It is all trial and error. BEST wishes with your big baby boy!
