Questionhello Marjorie Goodness, i have 2 Staffordshire Bull Terriers - i know they are not Bull dogs but they are in a similar family and temperment. my female dog is very active and chews on a lot of things - and i found a pile of stones, one the diameter of a quarter, that i believe that she dug up and possibly swallowed one. recently also, though, (so i don't know what's causing her bloating, she is also sluggish, not happy, breathing heavy) i gave her a cow thigh, over the years i have given her one - but i'm thinking that maybe she is constipated. so yesterday i gave her some yogurt, and this morning gave her some milk - usually milk products give her diareaha (?spelling?) - i really want to avoid taking her to the vet - my budget is very tight - but i will if i have to - but what do you think? when i get home today - if she is better i probably won't take her in, but if she is the same i will. her father swallowed a golf ball years back - he had to have an operation - i hope and pray that this is not the same. do you think the milk will help?
AnswerIf your dog is still uncomfortable rush her to the vet asap. She probably has an intestinal obstruction of some sort. Never give these dogs anything smaller than their head to chew on because they'll swallow it. I used to have a Staff and they're wonderful dogs. At the very least, she needs to have an xray to find out what is, or isn't, in there. Good luck.
