Question
QUESTION: Hi Maria. Is it normal for a bulldog to burp? He only burps after he has drank a lot of water? I have him eating 3 cups of Wellness Puppy food a day and about a mothn ago I got him on the nuvet vitams. One more thing, he is about 38 pounds. I know its hard for you to say but is that about the right weight?

ANSWER: Hi Chris: Bulldogs tend to take IN a bunch of air when they eat or drink.  So, yes, it is normal for Your bullie kid to burp...
Sounds like he is doing well.  I have a few male English bullies that come to my hotel and they range from 45 to 55 lbs at 6-8 months old.  I believe your kid is close to the target weight at his age.

Continue with the Good feeding of Wellness Formula Puppy Food and the NuVET Plus Wafers.  Also, add some Salmon oil to his diet- two teaspoons per day of PURE salmon oil.

Also, you may want to give him a weekly dosage of canned pure pumpkin - just 1/8 of a cup 2 x per week will give him some added calories.
He should like the pure canned pumpkin.  Just 1/8 of a cup mixed with a little dry dog food 2 x per week.

Keep me posted!!!!

QUESTION: Thanks for that answer, I have another one though. What do you suggest about tear stains? I clean them and dry them daily but when I check them throughout the day they still seem a little moist.

Answer
Oh, Biggie is so cute!!!!
Ok, yes - wash the area with NON scented baby wipes ) the kind for human kids...)
Add some corn starch to the under eye area.
Just place some corn starch in the palm of your hand.  Then place your finger in the corn starch and pat under his eyes...
This will grab the wetness from the eye area.
Do this daily - just a few pats of corn starch under each eye...

Easy to do and LOW cost.
