My English Bulldog, Deezill

Question
Deezill is an 11 month old male English bulldog.  He is on the large side weighing in at 61 lbs already, although our vet said he is not over weight he is just a big boy.  Anyway since we got Deezill at 10 weeks old my boyfriend and I have noticed that every once in a while he will limp.  So we took him to the vet, I take him for everything, and the vet said it was growing pains.  So Thursday morning I was getting ready for work and noticed Deezill was limping and it was worse than usual.  When I got home that night it had stopped, then about an hour later the limping started again.  I made an appointment for Friday and Deezill was diagnosed with Luxating Patella grade 2-3.  The vet is saying that it may be traumatic but I've have asked about his limping in atleast 3 prior visits.  What should I do, I hate seeing him in pain.

Answer
Jenna,

Bulldog are prone to hip problems.  Luxating patella is the knee.  It sounds like more of a hip problem then a knee problem since it has been ongoing.  I agree with you, that it is probably not due to trauma.

I recommend that you see another vet and have his hips checked out.  You may look for a vet that specializes in bulldogs.
