Question
We have a 6 month old english bull.. We are feeding him nutro for puppy. His stool, for the most part is firm. Sometimes loose but the gas is TERRIBLE.  Since he is 6 months old, when should we switch and what do you recommend? I know that you gradually do this but is there a certain age??  I've been researching and all say different.  Help   thanks, Wendy

Answer

Betty loves NuVET wafe
Hi Wendy - English bullies are known for gas probems.  I sure don't like the Nutro brand of dog food - too much corn and junk fillers.
Also, let's raise this boy's feeding dishes - a raised feeding station will help to decrease the air intake when he is eating.
( they tend to gulp up air)

Yes, a good Food change would be great for this boy, done slowly - Give him a better food such as:
Innova PUP
Solid gold pup
Wellness pup
Merrick pup
Do a 50:50 mix of the Nutro and the new food x 3 weeks - then go 100% to the new food.
You will see a big change with a better food and raised feeding ...

Also, most of my bullie clients take 1 nuvet wafer vitamin per day - long term - It protects the skin, coat, hips, joints .....
JUST a great overall vitamin supplement.
