English Bulldog Weight

Question
My english bulldog is four and a half months old and weighs a little over 30 pounds. She doesn't seem to be growing quite as fast as her littermates, and her parents were both around 60-65 pounds. She's been to the vet and they haven't said anything about her being underweight. I know it's hard for you to determine without having seen her, but is 30 pounds a pretty standard weight for her age? I have also heard that the head is the last part of the body to really grow. Is this true? She does look a bit disproportional because her she's getting longer and thicker but her head is still relatively small. Thanks so much for your help.

Answer
I don't like seeing fat puppies. When you down on her, she should have a defined waste behind her ribs. That's good weight for a puppy. She may not be as big as her littermates and females rarely have the impressive heads that males do. Regardless, the heads are the last to mature.  The dog you have at a year and a half old will be the final product.  They go through growth spurts, uglies, and eventually come together.
