jumping ebd

My 5 1/2 month old English bulldog constantly jumps on everything when I'm around. He jumps on me, on the couch when I'm sitting down & on the kitchen cabinets when I am cooking. He does not do this to my husband. I scold him, talk in a stern voice, put him in his crate for a 'time-out', but he continues this behavior and it is getting very annoying. He has been to obedience school. Any suggestions would be helpful.

He needs more training for one thing. You might try carrying around a rolled up newspaper and giving him a whack when he jumps on you accompanied by a stern "NO!"

When he jumps on you, give him a knee to the chest which will knock him down. Do it quickly and with some force. Landing on his back a few times should discourage him, but remember, he is a bulldog and will be persistent.
