Question
my three year old american bulldog has what appears to be bug bites all over his face .what could this be.he also has bumps under his chin and it smells.

Answer
Hi Tracy:  It is hard for me to figure on this....I can't see your bulldogs face.

It could be one of two things.  First, could be warts on the bottom of the chin, that have become infected:

Warts do not always need treatment. If they do not seem to bother the dog, they can be left alone. However, if the pet needs to be anesthetized for some other procedure, vets often recommend removing warts at that time anyway so that they do not become a problem in the future. Sometimes warts will go away on their own.

If warts do seem to bother your pet or if they are irritated, infected, or bleeding, they will need to be removed surgically. This is done under general anesthesia.

The other idea I have is flea bites.  Your pal could be allergic to fleas or mosquitoes.  In your area, are there many fleas or other pesty guys?

To help your kid's skin irritations, here is some help:

1.  Get some salmon oil -  ( pure salmon oil ) - 1 teaspoon per day on top of dry or wet food.
2.  Get a natural flea / mosquito spray - ( many are made with lemons)  Put this on your pal when he is outside.  You can spray your hand and then rub it on her.
3.  Get your pal onto some NuVET Plus - a great skin and coat supplement....
here is the link:  Cost is only .50 cents per day - Only need one wafer treat per day.
Will help to heal area and combat skin infections and itching.
