English Bulldog- Snotty Nose

Question
Hello,

I was set to purchase an English Bulldog from a couple in Arkansas. But am now told the pup has a snotty nose and slight cough and the owner doesn't want to take the risk of her flying to New York(my location). She has already taken to the pup to the vet and is giving her the necessary meds. Is an snotty nose enough to make a pup not be able to travel  (flying)?

Answer
Absolutely. A Bulldog is prone to upper respiratory infection and any sign of a cold should be treated immediately and the puppy should not be stressed by travel or anything else until it's completely resolved. This could quickly evolve into pneumonia and you'd probably end up with a very sick or perhaps dead puppy. I commend the breeder for her actions.

Plus, no vet with any integrity at all would issue a health certificate for any puppy to fly who has a snotty nose.
