my dog has no hair

My 2 year old English bull dog has lost all the hair on her back. It started out as a small sore on her head and now she has no hair from her neck to the top of her butt. The skin feels really coarse to the touch. It does not seem to bother her it is just really hard to see her this way. Is there anything I can do to make the hair grow back and can  you give me an ideal what it is.

This sounds like a thyroid problem. Have a blood test done at your vet. It's called a T3/T4 test and it will determine whether or not her thyroid is functioning properly. If medication is needs, it's very inexpensive. Her hair will grow back if this is the problem once she's on medication.

There is a condition called seasonal alopecia but it usually is seen only in the flank area, not down the back.  What you're describing sounds totally different.
