Question
I am a new bulldog owner and i had several questions. I have a 8 week old english bulldog that I am trying to potty train, and when he doesnt want to go outside he sits down and refuses vigorously to move i have to drag him and the he gets even more aggressive. Sometimes i have to pick him up and take him to his potty spot. Is it ok to pick him up? i dont want him to get used to me picking him up to go potty. other times i baby talk to him to let him now its ok and not to be scared should i not baby talk? i dont want to spoil him. Since hes so young, I dont know if i can put a flee collar on him, im worried that he might slip out of it, chew on it and ingest it and make him ill, since i live in an apartment complex, there are other pets with fleas and after "potty time" i search him and manually take them out. Is there any puppy remedy that wont harm him for fleas? I had heard that maybe herbal sage sprinkled on his coat would repel. your advise is greatly appreciated thankyou.

Answer
It's perfectly ok to pick up your puppy. He's just a baby and doesn't have a clue what you're trying to get him to go. Potty training takes months so you may as well relax and be patient with him. If you email me directly I'll send you some training information that may help.

No flea collar! Take him to the vet and put him on some type of flea prevention like Frontline. Your vet will prescribe the proper dosage for his weight.
