Bulldog cough

Question
Hi Maria,
I had a question regarding my 10 week old female English bulldog. I just got her about two weeks ago from a very great couple with both parents on the premise, papers and felt very comfortable with them. All of the puppies and mom were great. She has been doing wonderfully, eating, playing, drinking and chewing, of course like a puppy. I have a two year old female English bulldog at home already and they are adjusting quite nicely. Neither one of them have ever been in a kennel. My puppy, Kiya, has a little cough, almost like she wants to "hack" something up and a sneeze. I know this is not uncommon, especially where we live in Florida. She is still very active and they both eat solid gold organic food. I just want to make sure that it isn't a respiratory infection or if she is just getting used to the smells and dander around the house. I was wondering if I should take her into the vet or see how she does. On a side note, I have a cold last week, but was told that I could not pass it on to her from the vet. Thank you very much for your time and answer.
Christina

Answer
Hi Christina, Well, BEST wishes on the new English bulldog pup!  It was so great of you to get a playmate for your 2 yr old bullie girl...
As for the cough, I would bring her in because her lungs are so small.  They can turn into pneumonia in 24 hrs or less.  I am hoping it is just a grass and pollen allergy..
To be on the safe side, I would have the vet check her lungs for fluid.
I am NOT one to run to the vet for every little thing but for this, yes.

Keep me posted on this!  I do want to help and see photos of your two girls.
