QuestionWe are new bulldog owners our Bulldog Winston is 15 weeks old and he has a bad tail pocket infection. We took him to the Vet today and he said it was pretty bad and he wanted / setup surgery for next Tuesday. So this is his first tail pocket infection. He has a very tight tail and there puss coming from around the tail. The vet gave us some drugs until next Tuesday. I just don't know what to do? Go ahead with the surgery or try and get this one fixed up and stay on top of cleanings from here on out I don't want him in pain and having to deal with these the rest of his life..? Please help any advice would be great..
Thanks,
Dev
Answerbulldog cork screw tail infection; cleaning your bulldog's tail;
Hi - I would love an update on your bulldog's infection???
Did you try to heal the area with natural options?
Did they do surgery to remove the tail...
I would love to know how your boy is doing?

Oh Boy! Don't do it! The first infection and they want to remove the tail>>> ???? This is a cork screw tail?? It goes inside of the rectal area and can cause lifetime LOOSE stools if they cut too deep.
I would work on healing the area and taking care of it daily...
I have heard awful stories of this surgical removal of a cork screw tail!! At least, get a second opinion on this.
Also, I would be glad to work with you and teach you how to heal the area and keep it clean and Infection free.
YOU will need some natural supplements and a quality dog food.
Let me know if you want my suggestions for your baby's diet.
It is all diet and alittle bit of daily cleaning.
I can't believe they aready want to do surgery!
