Question

Meet Maggie
Hello  Maria,
My family and I adopted Maggie Margaret aka Miss Piggs.  She is a 20 month old female.  She is beautiful and we couldn't be more pleased.  We have only had her a few days but wanted to give her the best we can and stay proactive on her needs.

The former owners had her on Iams lamb and rice.  After much research, I discovered this is not a very good food.  I wanted to change her to Orijen Regional Red but the product is not presently available in my area so I was considering Innova Evo Red Meat.  What do you think of these two products?

The former owner did not have her on a flea preventative.  Is there an issue with bullies that would deem it unwise to use K-9 or such flea preventative?

The only other issue we noticed is that she has a few small bumps under her fur on her torso area.  They are on the surface, raised but not red or infected looking.  They do not seem to bother her and she does not scratch or lick like I read some bullies will do when attacked by an allergy.

Thank you for any advise you can give.

New Bully Lover,
Harris Family

Answer
OH - I love Maggie's Photo... I can't resist an English Bullies FACE!!!
Glad you are going to change from Iams to Innov Evo - GREAT choice-  Do it slowly...
No fast change overs or you will see Loose stools...
Do a 50:50 mix of the EVO ( red meat or any of the EVOs are fine)- Iams and EVO (50:50 Mix) -
Do the mix for at least 10-15 days ... Then go 100% to EVO -

As far as flea treatment - I go natural and safe with Critter oil, Cedar oil or D.Earth - see link below for the natural products.... I don't like to put poisons on my pets.  Frontline and others are poison - read the ingredients.  OH BOY!!!

NEXT-  I have 1000s of clients that I follow and they all take NuVET Wafers / it is a vitamin - supplement - helps with skin/coat but also protects the LEGS, HIPS and JOINTS....
It may help her little bumps you mentioned...( may be a little dog acne...)
Dogs get acne on the face, chin and belly --- just keep an eye on it.
