Demodex Mange/ NuVET Plus / Strengthen the immune system...

QUESTION: Hi there
I recently adopted a 6 month old English Bull Terrier/ Tree Walker Hound mix. She looks a bit more like the Walker Hound but has the head and skin problems of the Bully.
She is now 7 months and has been diagnosed with Demodex mange and is on her 2nd treatment (bi-weekly) of Promeris.
Her face and chin are are almost bare and more bare spots are now on her legs. Aside from the spots she has also developed very dry like bumps on the back of her neck, there a real white. The vet said it was a secondary symptom from the mange and I now have her on cephalexin. 1 week later one of the very dry spots has enlarged and It seems to have puss or blood inside it. There is now an even larger bare spot on her neck, where there had never been one before.
I'm desperate to help out my little girl and would love any information you can give me on the situation.

ANSWER: Oh Boy!  Yes, Erin, Mange can be awful for the two of you....
Sorry you have to deal with this.  The meds the VET gives you will help but they also can hurt the immune system.  We need to get your girl's immune system stronger and she will gain her health back.

Here are some suggestions:

Continue with your VET's treatments as directed.  Add a few supplements to her program.  Also, can you tell me what food you are feeding her/???  ( brand and flavor)

QUESTION: Thank you so much for the great insight!!
Im feeding her Chicken Soup for the Dogs Soul (Puppy) I read up on many dog foods/ingredents and I believe that this is a good choice of dog food.
Also I have one more question about some holistic treatments. I've researched several different vitamins (E,C,Cod liver oil, zinc, omega 3's etc) and am intereted in giving her some. Is it bad to give her all of them daily or should I just stick to one or two vitamins. Is it okay to mix? I also read that yogurt and seasame oil would be good to put in the dogs food. Should I do one or the other or would it be okay to put both in her food?

Hi: Great! Yes, Chicken Soup for the Dog Lover's Soul is an excellent food!  Good job.
Around 9 months old put her on the Adult formula.  They don't always need to stay on puppy food past 9 or 10 months.  Talk to your vet about that option - you don't want an over weight bullie kid.

Next, if you go with my suggestions you don't need the following:

( YOU stated : vitamins (E,C,Cod liver oil, zinc, omega 3's etc )
Yogurt and the ses oil is not needed with my suggestions.
