Yet another bullie skin question

Question
This is our second bulldog, a male 8 weeks old, and he is beautiful (Isn't this the best breed on earth???). The breeder flew him out to me and I was thrilled. He is the most wrinkled puppy I have ever seen, (I mean an extra three feet of skin!!) I discovered red, swollen, bumps last night (we have had him three days) around his neck. We removed the collar and I bathed him to remove what I assumed was blood. Our other bulldog gets the diaper rash in her wrinlkles, and I figured this was the same thing, caused by the collar we had him wearing. This morning I let him out to potty and play and when he came in an hour later, he had the same reddish brown matted fur around his neck. Upon close inspection I found it is food! He is drinking and saturating himself, then eating and the food is caking in his wrinkles. My question is can dried dog food cause this type of skin irritation? Also, I have read that Boudreaxs Butt Paste is the best thing for the diaper like rash,... is this your opinion as well? Lastly, short of a MAJOR face lift any suggestions you might have on keeping the 6.5 inches of wrinkles that hang down out of his water and food?

Thanks, and sorry for the novel, but wanted to paint a clear picture.

Warmest Regards,

Jack

Answer
First of all, I would leave the collar off totally. If you're walking him with it, take it off when he's inside. There's no reason on earth for dry food to cause this type of irritation.

You may just have to towel him off every time he eats and drinks until he grows into his wrinkles. Just to be on the safe side I would have a vet take a look at those red bumps and perhaps do a skin scraping.

I wouldn't put anything on it until you've talked to a vet.
