pupping poop and anesthesia

Question
I have 2 questions.  I was feeding my english bulldog lamb and rice hard with a little soft lamb and rice mixed in with it.  I recently changed to mixing chicken and rice in with the hard and since then her poop has been like pudding.  Not diarrhea but very soft. Do you thing the  soft poop is due to the food change? It has been about 2 weeks.  Also, I have to get her spayed and I am concerned about the anesthesia.  Is there anything I should know or tell my vet? I really like my vet.  I have other dogs (not bulldogs this is my first bulldog) and he is excellent and always does a great job but I dont know of his experience with bulldogs.  I really dont know of any bulldog "specialists" in my area and I really dont want to go to a new vet that I am not familiar with.  Is there any advice that I can give my vet about anesthesia with bulldogs?

Answer
Get rid of the canned food altogether and stay with the hard kibble. Depending upon what you're feeding, you may need to make an adjustment if the poop doesn't firm up.

Anesthesia is tricky with Bulldogs. Ask your vet if he has experience with this. It's not putting them to sleep, it's waking them up that causes problems. A vet can't pull the airway tube out until they're practically up and walking around. I'm sure you'll be fine with your vet. Just express your concerns.
