Question
QUESTION: Hi i've had my bulldog since he was 1 yrs old, from the first day we had him he never liked other animals he is now 5,but he is getting worst its hard taking him out for a walk because he just goes for anyone he can see.We have tried water spray giving him gifts but no luck. But also he was never keen on children only my own children who are 9 and 10.He has biten both a child and a man before now but luckily for me there was no marks left.Since this has all happened i have had to put him in a kennel in a garden as my children have there friends round and he just goes straight for them.Even if we go past kids whilst out for a walk he tries to jump straight for them. Please help i just dont know what else to do.Every day is gettin worst, also since then we have found out his last owner only had him 5 months we dont know why. Thanks Nicola.

ANSWER: Nicola,

This will probably be the hardest thing you will have to do and it is hard for me to tell you, but you cannon keep a bulldog that bites.  Bulldogs were bred to have a very strong bite.  This is a very dangerous situation.

You should never had a dog that bites, especially with children, and especially a bulldog.  And I don' think it would be safe or wise to find a new home for him.

You really need to have him put down.  It is not worth the risk of someone getting hurt.

Sorry to give such bad news.

QUESTION: Thanks so much for yr fast reply, could you give me any reason why he is like this,as it would help. Thanks very much.As i've read so much about blaming it on the owners and i feel terrible. Thanks very much again.Nicola.

Answer
Nicola,

It is impossible to say.  Bulldogs are usually very gentle.  It could be a flaw in his wireing (nothing can be done about that), or it could have been something that happened to him before you got him.

It sounds like you have done everything you can do to try to make it work out, but it is not worth the risk of something happening to one of your children!!!
