Why do these dogs kinda have an odor and the lap over the nose, how do I care for that also.

This breed is prone to skin ailments therefore causing some smell.  rub the dog with a damp cloth and some fabreeze on it couple times a week, keep the belly clean and free of redness and rash.  Clean the lap with baby wipes daily and dry.
