Question
i have a 7 month english bulldog..he weighs about 45 pounds..is he over weight? he has been on Eaglepack Holistic Select Chicken Meal and Rice - For Small and Medium Breed Puppies & Adults. I feed him one and a half cups of food twice a day. He excercies regularly, and is doing well... but he is chubby! what should i do? should i switch to a different food (for example, eagle pack holistic select anchovie and sardine meal)..should i cut back on his current food?? also what are the reviews on royal canine specialized bulldog formula? i cant tell if its just a scam or its a good food - eaglepack has a great reputation and seems to have better ingredients than most foods...

Answer
Hi Sean:  I don't think he is overweight... Next time you are in the vet office ask them.  The vet can explain how the waist and rib cage should look in a bulldog.  Now, the food you are feeding is excellent!  I wonder if he only needs 1 cup at 2 feedings per day???
Are you feeding treats?  If you are, you can stop the treats.

As for the Royal Canine food, it is an ok food, about a C+ rating.
Too many fillers in that brand.

I would stick with the Eagle Pack.  You can increase his exercise or reduce his food slightly.

BEST wishes..
