Breeding bulldogs

Question
We have a 10 month old male bullie and have just purchased an 8 week old female bullie.  Although it will be at least 1.5 years until we consider breeding, can a vet help us determine if the two would be a good match?  We live in Yuma, Arizona, which is not a "hot bed" for bullies so there aren't any "expects" in our area.  Any suggestions would be much appreciated.  I have looked online and found several sites but they are not extremely helpful.  Any internet sites for research would also be appreciated. Thanks

Answer
Vets generally don't know anything about this type of thing. If you're in a "hot bed" of bullies, there has to be knowledgable people to help you.

Contact the Bulldog Club of America, www.thebca.org, and ask for a referral to a breeder in your area. Go to some shows, ask questions, observe and learn. An ethical, dedicated breeder will be able to evaluate your dogs and give you an honest critique. Breeding bulldogs isn't for sissies let me tell you that.
