English Bulldog - AKC papers, but looks nothing like an English Bulldog

Question
I purchased an "English Bulldog" for my wife.  I purchased this one because the seller had AKC papers on him and showed me the AKC registry for the mother, then showed me the website of the breeder who offered the Stud service.  The Stud looked like a large English, but the mom wasn't so good looking.  I just figured it was because she just gave birth a few weeks prior.  Well, my dog is now 5 1/2 months old and 40 lbs.  Doesn't have a smooshed face and doesn't have a broad chest. He is also already taller than the breed standard. People always ask us if he is a bulldog/boxer mix, or an american bulldog! Is there any legal way to get my money back?  We obviously love the dog either way, but he is not what we payed over $1000 for.

Answer
Hi Brad:  wow... sorry about this:  As you know, people can be evil and rip you off.  I would call a few breeders and ask them to take a look at your boy.  See what they say about him...

Also, you could go to  small claims court, in your state.  Also, file a complaint with the Attorney General and The BETTER Business bureau, if you are in the USA.

I wish that I could be of more help to you... Also, send a letter to the AKC registry about this breeder.

BEST wishes on this !
