Question
HI, I have a 6 month old EBD. My vet told me to take him off puppy food and put him on adult food. The vet says that puppy food has to much protein and will cause my bully to grow faster. This will result in hip problems later on. What do you think?

Answer
As long as you're not feeding the puppy large breed puppy formula food, there's no reason to believe that it will affect his hips later on. At 6 months old, he's done over have of his growing already. In fact, most adult foods have the same protein content, 26% as puppy food. I keep mine on Purina Puppy Chow until they're about 8 months old and then change them over to adult food.  Right now I'm using Nutri Source and I'm very happy with it. Innovo, Eukanuba, Wellness are all good choices.

There are no Bulldogs with great hips. Keep the puppy trim and allow him to free exercise but not to the point of exhaustion, have him neutered if you haven't done that already, and he should leave a long, healthy life.
