Biting/Nipping

Question
Thank you so much for providing a site that we can ask questions and that you care so much.  Our bulldog puppy is almost 5 months old.  His name is Theo and oh how we love him.  He is doing so well with potty training and everything else except for one thing.  I know he is only playing because he is a puppy, but he plays so rough that he is biting me and my husband.  My arms have such ugly marks (that have actually brought the blood).  I have tried everything that I can think of and nothing is helping.  Can you please give us some advise.  We plan to put him in an 'obedience class' when he is 6 months.  He is the most perfect and beautiful bulldog ever and we are so emotionally attached already, but please help me.  My arms look horrible.  I know he doesn't mean to hurt me, but his biting is getting no better......Thanks again

Answer

I don't bite!
Hello Carolyn and Theo - this is normal puppy behavior.  But, mom and dad will need to teach this boy bite inhibition.
Here are some wonderful links that will help you to teach him why he should not play bite so much...
