American Bull dog skin care

Question
The vet mentioned today that my puppy looked to be "itchy" (which has not been a problem), but warned me of the potential skin problems with pure white dogs.  I've not noticed, but she pointed out how thin her hair is on her chest.  Are there vitimins or additives for her food that I might add in order to avoid any problems?

Answer
You just have to love vets. They see a Bulldog of any type and begin planning their next vacation.

If your dog isn't having skin problems, then don't worry about it.  Yes, white dogs are prone to skin issues but not all of them. So her chest hair is thin.  So what?

Just continue to do whatever you're doing and don't rock the boat by adding anything. If your dog develops skin issues at some point, the first place to look is the food and anything else the dog eats. Then it's environmental things next, carpet cleaner, floor wax, detergent, lawn care products, etc.

Right now, enjoy your dog.
