hair loss,hot spots, swollen paws american bulldog; hills z/d poor stuff!

Hello Maria. We have an american bulldog,Rocky. He's almost 4yrs. He suffers from hair loss around his chest,legs & back. He also has dermatitis around his muzzle & his paws are swollen with sores & hair loss. The Vet gave us 625mg Clavamox. Nolvasan solution to soak his feet. Malaseb towelettes for his muzzle. The food we feed him is Hills prescription diet Z/D ultra allergen prescribed by vet. However we did change to  Natural Balance for 2 months but discontinued & went back to Z/D. Have you heard of this food? I feel maybe there's better food out there for him. Any suggestions? I already ordered Nuvet wafers & Tea-tree shampoo I am waiting for it via mail. thanks!

I would change your baby over to another food -----

Please look for the following foods in the local pet store:

They are all grain free foods / YOU can do your Hills Z/d and the new grain free food for 4 weeks ( a 50:50 mix of the old food and the new food)
The Hills z/d is poor quality and I don't know how they sell this stuff.... It is so expensive and full of junk!
Have you ever looked at the ingredients in the Hill's products???
OH, Boy ----- poor quality.

Slowly take him off this stuff and place him onto a new feeding program.
No treat unless they are grain free : Wellness, Innova , Merrick - must say : Grain free on the treat bag.

As for the Tea Tree shampoo-  Use this 2 x per month or more if needed.
MOST dogs don't need a bath more than 2 x per month.  If you go the a groomer for baths, bring the Tea Tree shampoo with you.
