Question
Hi,  I have a 6 month old British Bulldog puppy who is very healthy but one of his eyes is red in the corner and is a little swollen.  It has been for 7 weeks.  I have read that teething can cause this which is definitely is at the moment and that I should not rush him to the vets.  He also has the runs sometimes which again I have read is due to teething.  I am more concerned about his eyes than the other problem.  We feed him Pets at Home Premium dried food.

Answer
Hi jayne-  Can you feed him something else... The Pets At Home brand is very high in protiens... It is not a bad food, just wonder if this is causing his problems...

Try Wellness Formula fish and potato, mixed into his Pets AT Home ... You can do the two together for a few months.  See if this helps the loose poops.  If you can't find Wellness.... Then, Solid Gold brand is a very good one too.  GET him the Adult formula not the puppy formula.

Now, about the eye, not sure on this one.  The redness shouldn't last too long and should not be swollen.  I would have the vet look at this.  Or, you can ask the vet if you can try Benadryl...
If it is allergies, the benadryl will help the redness to go away.

BEST Wishes to you
