Mini English Bulldogs

Question
I was wondering if there really is a separate breed of the English Bulldog known as the mini. I found websites selling pups for thousands of dollars that will ship them from all over the country. I also found a blog stating there is no such breed and all they are only runts that are being bred. Should I spend 2500 dollars on a mini pup?
Thanks!

Answer
The new "designer" breed, mini bulldog is not a bulldog at all.  English Bulldogs are being crossed with Pugs and/or French Bulldogs to reduce their size. They are nothing but glorified mutts but in the world today, everything is worth whatever some fool is willing to pay.

They are not considered a breed in itself.  They are not AKC registerable.  They are registered with the CKC who would register a chipmunk and call it a Chiapoo if they could make a buck on it.

To answer your question, if you've got $2500 to toss out the window on a mutt, by all means, it's a free country.
