Hi Deann, Well, your kid many have environmental allergies and Food allergies....
Here is some help:
YES, continue with the antibiotic, for the open sores.

I have a new food that you can try - Innova Puppy or Wellness Puppy - I sure don't like the Iams brand at all ....
Iams has ......Too much corn and other ingredients that cause allergy troubles and itching.

So, a new food - Do a 50:50 mix of the old food and new food x 2 weeks.  Then, go to the new food - Innova or Wellness -  they can be found at most pet stores.

Also, Please call the NuVET folks and order the NuVET Plus - this is great for pups and adults dogs, too....... Helps to fight off the allergens and re-builds the immune system.
You can get the wafers or powder of the NuVET Plus:
This will help to heal the sores and prevent new ones...
Right now you would need 1 teaspoon per day or 1 NuVET wafer per day.

Call 1-800-474-7044  Ask for the NuVET and tell them referral code 81098 and my name : Marie Peppers of Ask the Pet Nurse...

NuVET is holistic and not found in any pet stores.

I would love to work with you and your vet.
