how soon can I tell if my bulldog is bred?

I had my 17 month old english bulldog AI last week and wanted to know if there are any signs to tell if she was bred and what to look for. Our vet said sometimes it takes 45 days to tell for sure? I would love to know before that.

It depends on the female. Sometimes if it's the first litter it's very hard to tell until 4-5 weeks into it. If she has pink nipples now, they should turn a brighter pink around this time. That's a easy indication, unless you have a dog with black nipples. Sometimes mine will have morning sickness 2-3 weeks into pregnancy, but only once or twice.  I have one female who immediately starts pooping in her crate.  That's how I know for sure she's pregnant because she's perfectly clean any other time. They're all different.
