Question
We have a 60 pound British Bull Dog. he is one and a half. we have just switched him to adult Pedigree food. we want to know what the correct amount is to feed him is. At the moment he is fed just under a cup of dry and 3 scoops of wet, twice a day. no matter how much we feed him he is always hungry but are we giving him enough?
Thanks.

Answer
Thomas,

That doesn't sound like enough food.

First, your dog food bag should have recommended amounts based on your dog's weight.  I would say that a 60 lb bulldog should have between 4 and 5 cups of dry food a day.  If you divide that by two feedings, that would be at least 2 cups per feeding.

Second, a 1 1/2 year old bulldog does not need wet food.  We only feed wet feed to a puppy that is not growing well or a sick dog.  So, I'm not sure of the amounts on wet food.

Third, if you dog is not overweight and he is still hungry, you should feed him more.

Hope that helps.
