Question
QUESTION: Hi, Our 17wk old Bulldog was having problems breathing in the morning and was trying to cough phlegm up.  This was only a morning problem and was fine in afternoon and evening.  We took him to the vets who at 1st look thought he may have had pneumonia.  After x-ray they said he has a narrow windpipe (hypoplastic trachea) and there is no surgery for this.  My question is if there is anything we can do to help keep the phlegm clear such as put a humidifier in his room or any other method.  Also is it possible his trachea could expand as he gets older and fix the problem?

ANSWER: Hi Martin- This is a common problem in the Bulldog breed.  This is about the time when it would show up...... Not much you can do except prevention with good food and supplements.
Keeping him healthy and a strong immune system is the key to his health.
Here are my suggestions for your bullie boy:

Place him onto some NuVET Plus - 1 per day of this Supplement/ IMMUNE system Blaster --- Also, it helps to fight off respiratory infections and allergies.  Here is the link for ordering - NOT sold in any stores:  http://www.nuvet.com/81098
Use vet order code 81098  *** they can't sell to the public without a vet
/breeder code -
All Natural and Safe for your boy.. Thousands of bullies take NuVET Plus each day.

Also, give this kid some garlic each day - 1/4 or less of a teaspoon per day of pure garlic powder... Mix into his food-
Great natural antibiotic.

Last, Vitamin E - give (1) 50 IU , just one per day....Hide it in some cheese....

Let me know how it all goes...
A humidifier would only be good if he has a sinus infection and is very congested..OK

Talk to you soon

QUESTION: Thanks Marie

It seems he has had a bacterial infection that was making the problem a whole lot worse.  He has responded very well to the anti-biotics the vet gave him and is like a new dog.  Do you know if the Nuvet Plus is available here in the UK as we live in Belfast, Northern Ireland?  We will get onto using the garlic and vitamin C now.  Thanks for your help, you are a star.

Martin

Hi Martin, Glad things are going much better.. YOU can't get the NuVET in Northern Ireland...they won't ship it to you ...
How about something like this:

I think they will ship to you... Natures sunshine products

Herbal Pumpkin - he would need 1-2 per day.... Great to reduce bacterias in the belly and blood stream:  Good for his gut health.
