Question
my bull dog has a corksrew tail and it stinks. my sister just gave harley aka bull dog to us and only seemed to have the reg bull dog problems. i took him to our fet as an intro. the vet said we needed to clean his corkscrew tail better with medicated wipes and gave us sum ointment (smells like bacon). well we did that and then he stunk alil. so ive been washing him 1 time a week. now he stinks worse. i think hes got too much moisture. i hate to say it but i put sum gold bond on a qtip and applied alil. my sis dint clean him too much if on 1 time a week. over kill i know. but what now

Answer
You need to keep the tail clean, but dry. If it gets absessed, you're in for a long haul which usually results in amputation. You shouldn't have to clean it more than once a week, and a baby wipe or three ought to do it. Really dig in there and clean out as much gunk as possible.

The odor may be coming from his anal glands and not his tail. Does he do what I call the "sit and spin"? If he's dragging his butt around, or acting uncomfortable, have his anal glads expressed. That may solve your odor problem.
