dry skin with scabs

Question
My 13 year old cat which now has some hair loss from the base of her tail to middle of her back and also very dry skin and also has scabs. I have noticed she does walk with that part of her back hunched up and it a little tender to the touch. Is there any cream I can put on it to help the dryness go away?
also I have not changer her diet or any part of her life style this is all new for her

If you want to talk about changing the food, let me know.  I would be glad to help you find a new one.  Sounds like  it may just be an environmental allergen.  The areas you mention are common on cats with an allergy to ? something.
