Question
My adult Chihuahua has been treated for flea allergy by her vet--steroid shots for itching, cephalexin (500 mg daily) for staph infection.  This was primarily on her stomach.  Now she has black lumps on her back--raised spots that sort of look like a tick.  When pressed or scraped (while raised), a pus is expressed. (She doesn't act as though these hurt when touched.)  After these spots are dried up, the area is flaky.  When this is scratched/brushed, the hair comes off. She has numerous dime-sized bare spots down her back.  I don't want her on steroids forever, or on antibiotics, either, for that matter.  First of all, what is this?  Is there some alternative treatment, something natural or holistic, for this problem?

Paula, I sure do understand your problem.

So many Pet parents write to me with similar problems...

Here is what I would do for your gal:

* Buy some Acidophilus 1 billion CFUs - can be found at most human Health food stores:  Give this baby 1/2 per day of the Acidophilus and hide it in some cheese or wet food.
All Natural and safe Probiotic... It will help with Yeast that may be in her blood and intestines.
VERY common problem with weak immune systems.
*( that is why she got the Staph infection)
Give her 1/2 per day for at least 1 month.
VERY low cost and SAFE..... ALL Natural, this is not a drug.

Next, slowly take this kid off your dog food and USE this one : SoJo dog food/ All YOU do is add lightly cooked meat.... VERY close to home cooking / just 1/4 cup in am and 1/8 cup in PM>>>>>>
EXCELLENT for dogs with poor immune systems, allergies and hot spots....

Do 1/8 your food and 1/8 the new food for 3 weeks....AFTER that, then go to 100% the new SoJO food.
YOU can find SoJo or Other - grain free foods at most pet stores.

They will send SoJO to your door and free shipping...
Slowly change over so you don't get loose stools.

HERE is the sojo link:
AGAIN, all you add is fresh lightly cooked meat.

1000s of Chi dogs take 1/2 NuVET per day.... Guaranteed to help - they offer a 60 day money back offer- SAFE/ Natural/ no risk.
They make NuVET in a powder or wafer form...

NOT sold in stores....you need a VET referral or Pet Pro code - call the manufacturer and tell them Marie sent you :

a 60 count is 39.00
( THIS would last you 4 months)- you only need 1/2 dosage per day.

ASK them how you can get 15% off every bottle.

Keep in touch with me -
Let me know if the Acidophalus and the NuVET Do the trick???
Give my program a good 60 day and SEE!
YOU may be able to get off the steroids before you know it!  MOST pets do get off the harsh drugs over time.
