Essential oils for cats?

Hello -  Can you put essential oils in a humidifier for a cat with breathing problems like asthma?  I have been doing it for the past few weeks on and off.  Mostly using Eucalyptus.  A couple days I mixed Eucalyptus with Rosemary.  One day I tried Lavender.  Would this have made him worse?  I know it is toxic to give orally or to rub on - but, is it to breath?  If so, what damaged may I have done to him, and is it reversible?  I stopped yesterday and today.  Today he does seem to be breathing a little better.  Any help would be appreciated.  Thanks, Denise

Hello Dee - I know that Eucalyptus and Lavender are fine.
