Stress in my GSD

Question

Buck
Hi Some info on Buck.
He is a 70# German Shepherd, 3 years old.  I have had him since he was 5 months.

He is very stressed all the time, if he is laying he will jump up and bound around, when
the phone rings he goes crazy, chases the house cats when they are laying around ignoring him.
When I take him to class or a show he acts up. He can't focus or concentrate on
what I am trying to teach him.
I have had people tell me he needs more training, But we have been training now for
almost 2 1/2 years,  he knows but he has a real focus/stress problem.  All the time we
have trained he always yawns and looks away, even it I have food and he is stressed
he will spit it out.

The signs that I see are.
1) Whining, ears back, pupils dilated, yawning, blinking his eyes, sniffing,
   licking his lips & nose
2) you can see the whites of his eyes most of the time if we are out and about(it is called Whale Eye)
that is telling me he is very stressed .
3) Barking
4) Will not look at me, yawns & looks away.
5) He will scratch.  (does not have fleas, does not have bad skin either)

Things I have tried are,  Rescue Remidy, Pet Essences (petessences.com) from
the health food store.

From the Vet, I have tried ProQuiet, then they prescribed a drug called
Amitriptylline 10mg, it is suppose to decrease the stress and he went the
opposite, 3 days on this made he 10 times worse.

I feed him a commercial food,
The food I feed is called Preimum Edge/Salmon, potatoes, vegtables/adult.

If I have left something out, ask me questions, I may not have given you
enough or the correct things you need to know about Buck.

Can you help?

Thanks

Answer
Hi Sherri, Sorry for the delay as I was ill this week.
HOW about this product, very SAFE - it is called composure.  I have used it with a very Anxious English bulldog boy.  Drs Foster and Smith sells ( http://www.drsfostersmith.com ) it for LESS than your local vet.
Works great - Use 2 in the am.... It does work - takes the Edge off.
( your boy may need 2-3 per day )
60 chews is 24.99   *MOST vets will sell this for--- double***

I would offer Valerian but I think the Composure will be better for your situation.

Give this a try - Doesn't cost much -  Give it at least 3 or 4 days to build a blood level.

BEST wishes
