Diet for a dog with sinus cancer and cushings disease

Question
Hi,
My poor Joe is very ill. He has both Cushing's Disease and has just been diagnosed with cancer in his right sinus. I am not sure what best to feed him.
He is a 7 1/2 year old mixed breed and currently weighs about 45kg (100 lb). Because of the Cushing's, he eats like a horse, so I have been giving him a lot of steamed vegetables and bran to provide bulk, but now I'm not sure which vegetables are beneficial and which should be avoided.  Until a few months ago he used to eat a raw chicken frame and dog biscuits for dinner, but we stopped giving him that because our new dog had no idea what to do with raw chicken, so he has been eating canned food and biscuits with vegetables and bran. If it will help him, I am more than happy to go back to the raw diet, but which one? Lots of the things I have read about diets for his two problems seem that what is good to help with the Cushing's Disease should be avoided because of the cancer... Plus, with his insatiable hunger, it is hard to keep up with him and still try to stop him getting any bigger. He has put on 8kg since November.

Any advice would be gratefully received!

Thank you

Answer
Hi Lyndsey,
I am sorry to hear about your guy's health problems. To adequately do this justice i would need to do a complete intake exam and ask questions.  It is very case specific and i dont believe constitutionally all animals benefit from raw.
I treat each case specifically because there are many patterns that can make up and create a disease.
Canine nutrition is very specific. Due to not knowing the treatment route you are taking for sinus cancer, I couldn't possibly prescribe the correct diet. I also need complete health, diet, and vaccine history and other pertinent info.
Along with western nutrition, I use Chinese medicine and it is all very specific, not one diet for all cushings patients, or one diet for cancer patients.
Due to time and 8 page intake, i would need to charge a fee for this.
You can contact me via website submission form, www.thenatureofthebeast.org
There are supplements to be added, high quality antioxidants, kidney herbs, blood and qi decongesting herbs, glycoproteins, and of course I am sure you are aware only
only the highest quality organic food.
Due to not knowing his history or enough about his digestive issues i couldn't recommend a cooked diet at the moment or raw.
Your case is very complicated and i would like to help! Please contact me via website or i'd recommend a vet who doesn't just coin the term "holistic" as many use to mislead. But one trained in nutrition, homeopathy and not just the measly 150 hours required for acupuncture for a DVM if they wish to practice, but one who has graduate training in Chinese medicine.
Best of luck to you and your little buddy,
Shanti
