Question

Buka
Hi Marie,
I have a 5 month old english bulldog puppy who has been affected these past couple of weeks by an allergy in his skin He has lots of little bumps in his skin as if he was attacked by ants. But he wasnt since he is always indoors. He has also lost a lot of hair from his back to the point where there are parts that dont have any. After reading some of your other answers regarding this issue a decided to get him started on Nuvet Plus and I am mixing pure Alaskan Salmon Oil in his food.(4 teaspons a day, he weighs 34 lbs.) I have him on Canidae All Life Stages. I was wondering if there is anything else I can do for him like change his food or should I just sit and wait for the supplements to work? Thanks for all your help. PS; He was only 8 weeks old in the picture.

Answer
Hi Danilo, Glad you have him starting on the NuVET wafers!  The Canidae is a very good food, too!
Alaskan Salmon oil was a great choice, too!!!
The only thing I can think of is an environmental allergy.
Make sure you wash his doggy bedding in a Baby Detergent like Dreft - something for babies is hypo-allergenic.

Also, if your house is very DRY, you can place a humidifier in a room for 4-5 hrs and then move it to another room for a few hours each day.  Don't run the humidifier for 24 hrs per day or we will be dealing with MOLD...OK?

Please wash him in some TEA Tree oil shampoo 1 time every 10 days - suds up his areas in question and let the shampoo sit for 4-5 minutes - then rinse well.
NuVET also makes a HOT spot Tea tree spray - Please use this 2 x per day on the areas in question.
TEA tree is very healing for dogs and people, too.
CALL the NuVET folks and ask for the Hot spot Tea Tree shampoo and the Spray.
I believe they are around 10.00 for each bottle

After a few weeks, the NuVET wafers and the salmon oil will kick in!
Please consider the Dreft baby detergent for his bedding.  ( if he is in your bed, then please do your bedding, too)

Buka looks so cute - I bet his is much bigger now at the 34 lbs....
CUTE!!!!
